Some exciting news!!!

At the end as June Gina from Gina K Designs and StampTV emailed me and ask if I would be willing to be a Center Stage spotlight Guest Designer for July. As soon as I could breath normally (which did take a little bit) I emailed her back and said YES!! I am completed shocked still, it is such an honor to be selected. As my regular readers already know I love Gina K Designs stamps. If you have never been to StampTV head over now, it is an awesome site with tons of tutorials and Gina posts a new video or two every Wednesday. These are the super talented ladies I get to work with this month Dawn Lusk, JenMarie Taylor, Shannon Bracken, Sue Morris, and Sue Walsh. Somebody please pinch me! The hardest part for me right now is that I am on vacation and have very limited internet access, so I am unable to comment much, and I have not made any new cards in days. I do have some supplies with me and I am going to try to get a few cards made over the next week.

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!

You're Better than Ice Cream

Here is the card I made for My Favorite Things one click challenge. The challenge is to make a summer card using flowers and polka dots. I use Here's the Scoop. I paper pieced, so that I could have wall paper. I colored with copics. The designer paper is from Basic Greys porcelain collection. The card base is pure luxury chocolate from Gina K Designs and the pink mat is Stampin' Up's blush blossom. I added some prima flowers with chocolate pearls for the centers. There is some paper piercing just under the sentiment.

I am going to be on vacation with my family, so I will not be posting much for the next couple of weeks. Good news is I will have some stamping supplies with me so I hope to have some cards to share with you. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe fourth of July.

Lemon Tree

I made a second card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge. I love this stamp set, it is gorgeous. I I started by coloring the tree with copics and then cutting out the oval with nestabilities, next I cut using labels one. The card base is barely banana, with patterned paper from Basic Grey's porcelain collection. I am really happy with the way this card came out. Thank you for stopping by.

A couple of challenge cards

I made this cards for Gina K Designs release party challenges on SCS.

The first card is for Lee's color challenge to make a card using her favorite colors pink and brown. It is also for Rachel's cupcake inspiration challenge #13. Rachel has a new challenge each week, this is my first time doing one of her challenge, it is fun and I will be doing more. I used regal rose(SU) and pure luxury brown (GKD). The DP is from Basic Grey's Porcelain collection. The butterfly is from Take Flight and the sentiment is from Eclectic Summer Sayings and the foliage in the background is from Botanical Dreams all from Gina K Designs. I also sponged with pretty in pink and regal rose. The butterfly is colored with copics(RV21, RV23, RV25).

For the seahorse card Donna's challenge was to make a one layer card with only one type of embellishment. I have a very hard time with CAS cards I always feel the need more added to them. So on to the card, I inked the seahorse with versamark and then a spectrum pad and then I heat embossed using a hologram embossing powder. The stamps are from Eclectic Summer and Eclectic Summer Sayings both from Gina K. Designs. Thank you for stopping by.

Also I will be posting another card soon, and it is a good one.

Take me away

So I have another card I made for a couple of challenges from StampTV. The first one is Melisa Waldorf's color challenge, bubblegum pink and aqua. Eek these are hard colors for me, but I went for it and it came out okay. The other challenge is for Cat's sketch challenge. The stamps are from Eclectic Summer and Eclectic Summer Sayings from Gina K Designs. It is very hard to tell in this photo but at the bottom it says You love keeps lifting me. The DP is Basic Grey's Urban Prairie and the card stock is regal rose and taken with teal. Thank you for stopping by.

Timeless Lemon

I am going to start off by saying that this card looks so much better in person. I don't know what was up but no matter how many times I took a photo of this card or how long I spent editing it I could not get it to look right. I have to say I spent almost the entire morning on it and have finally gave up.

Okay for the details. I made this for six different challenges, listed below. It is my first Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge. So the base is elegant eggplant, the DP is from Tea Party form Stampin' Up, and the oval is barley banana. The wonderful stamp is from a new set from Flourishes called Life Love & Lemons, I just got this set and I love it. I colored it with copics and then cut it out. In hope you all have a wonderful weekend, the weather here is gorgeous so I am out of here to enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Ice Cream!

I made this card for Lee's Pot Luck Friday challenge on StampTV, but as I was about to photograph it thinking I had until Friday morning to get it posted, that is when I saw that Lee already had picked a winner. What I didn't see was that deadline was Thursday evening not Friday morning. Next time I will have to look closer.

On to the card, the challenge was to make a card the was inspired by mint chocolate chip ice cream. I had this idea right away, but didn't have time to get to it until today. The card stock is chocolate chip and green galore with a scrap of Basic Grey Lime Rickey. I did do some sponging on the green but it doesn't show in the photo. I think I spent the most time tying the bow, I think I need a bow easy. The ice cream stamp is from lazy Days of Summer and the sentiment is from My Cuppa ' Joe both from Gina K Designs. As my reader readers already know I love to combine challenges with that being said there are two others that this card meets listed below.

If you get a chance head over to Gina's store and check out the new releases they are awesome, I just placed my order. Now I have to stalk the mailman until my new stamps get here. Thanks for stopping by.

2Red Bananas: How does summer inspire you. For me I love ice cream all year, but I think of it more in the summer.
The CuttleBug Spot: to celebrate summer or school being out. Ice cream again.

This was my first digital stamp and it was very easy. So for the details about the card, it for four challenges. Can you tell I love combining challenges? I like to see how many I can make work on one card so far I think 6 is the most I have done. I created the denim background and the bandanna as well. Peaceful Lighthouse

A few years ago my family went on a vacation up the Oregon coast and visited several of the lighthouses. It was one of the best vacation we have ever had. If you ever get a chance to tour inside a lighthouse, do it. We even we able to go up to the very top of one of them and look out over the ocean, so cool. Someday I hope to check some of the ones on the east coast. So when I first saw this set it brought back memories of that vacation, now I need to get out the photos from that trip and scrap them.

Okay enough of my reminiscing and on to the card. I made for my husband with that trip in mind. The stamp is from Rupa Shevde's set Guiding Light from Gina K Designs. I colored it with copics and embossed with labels one nestabilities. Gina's technique challenge this week was to use your nestabilities to emboss a frame. The patterned paper is from Basic Greys Lime Rickey collection. The card is five inch square with a base of tempting turquoise.

Challenges:
StampTV: Embossing only with nestabilities
2Redbananas: An inspiration challenge. How does summer inspire you? What do you see when you think of summer?
The Cuttlebug Spot: Celebrate Summer

Thanks for stopping by.

Rainbow Fish Birthday

I have to admit that I cased this card. When I first saw Theresa's Rainbow Fish card I loved it and then Jennie posted her color challenge on StampTV and it is an inspiration that has most of the same colors and I knew that I had to make my own version of it. I also did this for the birthday celebration challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog, to make a card that could be for a first birthday.
After coloring the fish with copic markers I used a versamark pen to ink it up and then heat embossed with clear before sponging the background. I sponged the background using bashful blue, ballet blue, and brilliant blue. The "seaweed is stamped in night of navy and stamped a second and third time to give it depth. I added some tiny rhinestones under the birthday sentiment. Thank you for stopping by.

Bloomin' Flower Pot

Yesterday Melanie Muenchinger posted on her blog a blog hop using her stamp set A Year of Flowers. This is my all time favorite flower set and also my favorite set from Melanie. For those of you who don't know Melanie is a illustrator/designer team member for Gina K Designs.

I have been seeing these flower pot cards on SCS for awhile and my first thought was to make a card using a year of flowers, but I never got around to it, so when Melanie started this hop I knew this is what I wanted to do. I started by stamping the rose first then masking and adding flowers until I felt I had enough then continuing to mask I added the leaves. Next I colored them with copics (colors below). After cutting them out I decided it needed to have a small white border. The flowers are attached to a insert. The flower pot is always artichoke and the sentiment is from Asela Hopkin's set Friendship's Garden also from Gina K Designs. The ribbon is certainly celery from Stampin' Up.

I found the instructions for the flower pot here.

Thank you for stopping by.

Post-it Note Holder

Here is a post-it note holder I made for Selma's Potluck Friday challenge on StampTV. It is also for the copic challenge on Copic Creations to color something with wood. The flower stamp is from eclectic summer from Gina K Designs. For the papers I used always artichoke for the base and the large circle, so saffron for the scallop circle and the mat behind the DP. The designer paper is from Basic Grey's Marrakech pack.

I wanted to share this picture I took tonight of the fuchsia in my back yard. It is a very beautiful plant and it about 14 feet tall and works its way up into a tree. I love the colors. Thank you for stopping by.
